Aether Mastery Gems (Universal Gems)

Aether gems are special “joker” gems that can be used for any skill mastery. They come in the same four types as regular gems but are not skill-specific.

Aether Gem Types

  • Aether Mastery Gem - Can replace any skill's Mastery Gem
  • Aether Mastery Prism - Can replace any skill's Mastery Prism
  • Aether Mastery Totem - Can replace any skill's Mastery Totem
  • Aether Mastery Relic - Can replace any skill's Mastery Relic

Important Rules for Aether Gems

  • Skill Universal: Aether gems work for any skill mastery
  • Type Specific: Each aether gem type can only replace its corresponding regular type
    • Aether Totems cannot replace missing Relics
    • Aether Relics cannot replace missing Gems
    • etc.
  • Priority System: The system prioritizes skill-specific gems first, then uses aether gems to fill remaining requirements

Example Usage

If you need 4 Prisms and 3 Totems for a level up and you have:

  • 2 Alchemy Prisms
  • 1 Stealth Totem
  • 3 Aether Prisms
  • 4 Aether Totems

The system will consume:

  • 2 Alchemy Prisms + 2 Aether Prisms (to fulfill the 4 Prism requirement)
  • 1 Stealth Totem + 2 Aether Totems (to fulfill the 3 Totem requirement)

Obtaining Mastery Gems

Regular Mastery Gems

  • Loot: Drop from monsters based on their loot score
  • Crafting: Can be crafted using tinkering skill (see Crafting section below)
  • Town Rewards: Available as rewards for town contribution points

Aether Mastery Gems

  • Town Rewards: Primary source through town contribution system
    • Aether Gem: 50 points
    • Aether Prism: 100 points
    • Aether Totem: 200 points
    • Aether Relic: 300 points

Town Reward Availability

Aether gems are available through all three town point types:

  • Town Influence points
  • Town Defense points
  • Town Exports points

Lower tier gems (Gem/Prism) are available in Tier 1 rewards, while higher tier gems (Totem/Relic) are available in Tier 2 rewards.

Crafting Higher Tier Mastery Gems

Higher tier mastery gems (Prisms, Totems, and Relics) can be crafted using the Tinkering skill. This allows players to upgrade their basic mastery gems into more valuable versions needed for higher level progression.

Crafting Requirements

Mastery Prisms

  • Skill Required: 50.0 - 100.0 Tinkering skill
  • Materials Needed:
    • 1x Mastery Gem (of the target skill)
    • Gold Ingots (varies by specific prism type)
  • Crafts: Skill-specific Mastery Prisms

Mastery Totems

  • Skill Required: 60.0 - 110.0 Tinkering skill
  • Materials Needed:
    • 1x Mastery Soul (of the target skill)
    • Gold Ingots (varies by specific totem type)
  • Crafts: Skill-specific Mastery Totems

Mastery Relics

  • Skill Required: 70.0 - 120.0 Tinkering skill
  • Materials Needed:
    • 1x Mastery Fragment (of the target skill)
    • Gold Ingots (varies by specific relic type)
  • Crafts: Skill-specific Mastery Relics

Gold Ingot Requirements

Gold Ingots are special crafting materials required for higher tier mastery gems.
They can be purchased from:

Banker

  • Location: Found in most major towns
  • Price: 10,000 gold per Gold Ingot
  • Purchase Method: Direct purchase through vendor interface

Jeweler

  • Location: Found in most major towns
  • Price: 10,000 gold per Gold Ingot
  • Purchase Method: Direct purchase through vendor interface

Gold Ingots can not be gathered via mining ores. There are no gold ore veins.

Mastery Tinker Service

For players who don't want to train tinkering skill or gather materials themselves or rely on other players and their vendors, there's a convenient Mastery Tinker Service available.

Accessing the Service

  • Location: Visit any Tinker NPC vendor
  • Activation: Double-click the Tinker NPC or use the context menu option
  • Interface: Opens a specialized crafting interface

How the Service Works

  1. Select Target Skill: Choose which skill mastery you want to craft gems for
  2. Choose Gem Types: Select from Prisms, Totems, or Relics
  3. Set Quantities: Specify how many of each type you want to craft
  4. Material Check: The system verifies you have the required base gems in your backpack
  5. Cost Calculation: Shows total gold cost (includes 30% service fee)
  6. Payment: Gold is automatically withdrawn from your bank account
  7. Crafting: Base gems are consumed and higher tier gems are created

Service Pricing

The Tinker service charges a 30% markup over the base material costs:

  • Base cost = (Gold Ingots needed × 10,000 gold per ingot)
  • Service cost = Base cost × 1.3 (30% fee)

Service Benefits

  • No Skill Requirements: Don't need tinkering skill
  • Convenience: Automatic material handling
  • Time Saving: Instant crafting without skill training
  • Quality Assurance: Always produces perfect results

Requirements for Service

  • Must have the required base gems (Gems/Souls/Fragments) in your backpack
  • Must have sufficient gold in your bank account to cover the total cost
  • Base gems must match the selected target skill

Character Enhancement (Base Mastery)

In addition to individual skill masteries, there is also a Character Enhancement system (also called Base Mastery) that provides global bonuses:

  • Armor Bonus: Increases armor rating
  • Resist Bonus: Improves magic resistance
  • Melee Damage Bonus: Enhances physical damage
  • Spell Damage Bonus: Increases magical damage

The Character Enhancement follows the same XP progression as skill masteries and has own gems “of the wise”.

Configuration Notes

  • Maximum mastery level is configurable (currently set to 21)
  • Some progression values may be modified for balance purposes
