Boating

Boating allows players to travel across the seas, reach remote fishing spots, finding habitable islands, engage in sea treasure hunting. Boats are required for activities such as deep-water fishing, MIB/SOS treasure retrieval, and exploring islands that are otherwise inaccessible.

Boats are typically purchased from Shipwright NPCs in major coastal towns (e.g., Coldstone, Moonvale, Volaria, etc.).

Prices vary by boat type (small, medium, large, dragon-boat style, etc.).

Double-click the deed will place an unblessed small boat in your backpack. Once the boat is placed on the water, an unblessed small gold key named “A Ship Key” will appear in your backpack.

1. Find a suitable dock or shoreline with enough open water.
2. Double-click the boat in your backpack.
3. Target the water to place your boat.
4. Step onto the boat’s plank to board.
5. Once boarded, you can pilot the boat using commands.

1. Pilot your boat to a coastline or dock.
2. Use the command “Lower Anchor”.
3. Double click on your plank and exit your boat.
4. Once on land, double click the Tiller Man in the rear of the boat and follow the prompt.

• Lowering/Raising the plank: Double click the side of the boat, usually the middle/towards the back, to lower the plank
• Once its lowered, you can double click the plank to teleport onto the boat.
• NOTE: If the side says “Locked”, you will need to double click the Ship Key in your backpack and target the side of the boat, “unlocking” it.
• To exit the boat, regardless if the plank is touching land, you will need to “walk” onto the plank to be teleported to land. You will NOT be able to exit your boat if you are “running”.

To maneuver your boat, you will need to use the following commands:

• Raise Anchor: Required command before you can move your boat.
• Lower Anchor: Required before you can “pick up” your boat.
• Forward/Forward One: Drives your boat forward. “Forward One” commands your boat to move forward “One” tile.
• Back/Back One: Reverses your boat. “Back One” commands your boat to move back “One” Tile.
• Turn Left/Turn Right: Turns your boat left/right.
• Left/Right: Drives your boat left/right.
• Forward Left/Right: Forward Left/Right One: Drives your boat forward at an angle. “One” moves in a single tile in the commanded direction.
• Back Left/Right: Back Left/Right One: Reverses your boat backwards at an angle.“One” moves in a single tile in the commanded direction.
• Turn Around: Turns your boat around 180 degrees.
• Stop: Stops your boat.

If you are at sea, it is possible for other players to attack you. If your planks are unlocked, they can board your boat and access its hold. In order for them to take control of your boat, they will have to claim your Ship Key. This is the same if you leave your boat unattended.

If you have a house or a spot where you would like to leave your boat deployed, it will accumulate a decay (the same as a house). Over this period, you will have Seven days until your boat is placed on an IDOC (In Danger of Collapsing) status, and you will lose your boat along with any items left within its hold.

While in your launched boat, you can double click the Tiller Man. He will say “What dost thou wish to name thy ship?. You must then type in the name of your choosing.
