Musicianship And Barding


General

Where “Skill” is either the song specific skill (ie. Peacemaking/Discordance) or Musicianship if the song is a Repertoire song (ie. Song of Light.)

After you play a bard song there is a cooldown before you can play another song of any type. Each bard song below has the cooldown listed.


Bard Level

To level up your “Bard Level” you must earn Barding Points.

On each level up, the bard gets 1 point he can spend on the duration or the potency for one skill based song he has in his Songbook.

With 32 points being the maximum spend in total. This is on average enough to bring 2 of the 4 available skill based songs to max duration and max potency.

Bard points are earned as follows:


Songs and Skill Checks

There are 2 kinds of songs:

For these songs, first a skill check for Musicianship is done. If the Musicianship check is successful, a skill check for the specific skill is done. Also, those songs can be leveled up in Duration and Potency (see Songbook). Duration and Potency can be leveled up to 8. Duration and Potency of the base bard songs Provocation, Peacemaking and Discordance can also be raised by 1 per Skill Mastery Perk Virtuoso level. So the maximum Duration and Potency is 16 or the base bard songs and 8 for the others (currently Healing).

For these songs, only a skill check for Musicianship is done. Those songs can be leveled up by spending points into the Skill Mastery Perk Repertoire.


Song of Provocation

Provokes a creature to attack another creature.
Song Bound To: Provocation
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Note: Mobs stop fighting after provocation duration ends.
Default Duration: 20 seconds
Duration Impact: +2 sec increase per level, calculated with virtuoso.
Virtuoso Impact: +2 sec increase per level, calculated with duration.
Potency Impact: Difficulty reduction (see Difficulty section)

Duration Example Calculation

If Duration = 6 and Virtuoso = 5:
`(6 + 5) * 2 + 20 = 42 seconds` with maximum of 52 Seconds available.


Song of Peacemaking

Example Calculation

If Duration = 6 and Virtuoso = 5:
`(6 + 5) * 2 + 20 = 42 seconds` with maximum of 52 Seconds available.

Tune Shattering

A chance to break pacification on damage exists: (HitsMax - Hits) * 0.001 > Random(0.0, 1.0).
When activated, it will display “Tune Shattered”.

Song of Discordance

Reduces damage dealt by the target and increases damage taken.
Song Bound To: Discordance
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Default Duration: 20 seconds
Duration Impact: +2 sec increase per level, calculated with virtuoso.
Virtuoso Impact: +2 sec increase per level, calculated with duration.
Potency Impact: Difficulty reduction (see Difficulty section)
+15% per lvl damage reduction from the target.
+15% per lvl damage increase to the target.

Duration Example Calculation

If Duration = 6 and Virtuoso = 5:
`(6 + 5) * 2 + 20 = 42 seconds` with maximum of 52 Seconds available.

Potency Example Calculation

If Potency = 6 and Virtuoso = 5:
`(15% + 6 + 5 * 1 = 26%)`

If Potency = 8 and Virtuoso = 8:
`(15% + 8 + 8 * 1 = 31%)` With 31% as the maximum.


Song of Healing

An Area Heal over Time spell.
Song Bound To: Healing
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Default Duration: 2 ticks
Tick Interval: `20-Duration/2` seconds (max: 16 seconds)
Duration Impact: 1 tick increase per level (max: 10 ticks)
Effect: Heals `5 + 2 * potency level` hp per tick (max: 21 hitpoints)
Potency Impact: Difficulty reduction (see Difficulty section)


Song of Light

Grants the night sight effect to the bard and nearby party members.
Song Bound To: Repertoire
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Default Duration: 10 minutes
Repertoire Impact: 2-minute increase per level (max: 26 minutes)


Song of Fortune

Grants a luck bonus to the bard and nearby party members.
Song Bound To: Repertoire
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Default Duration: 10 minutes
Default Effect: 2 luck per Repertoire level
Repertoire Impact: 2-minute increase per level (max: 26 minutes)
2 luck bonus per level (max: 16 luck bonus)
Party Effect: Party members in range get 50% of the bard’s luck bonus.




Difficulty

For Provocation, Peacemaking and Discordance, the difficulty of a song is calculated by the overall strength of the target mobile. In numbers, this varies from a value from 25 (weak) to 180 (strongest). For Song of Healing, the difficulty is 115 fixed.
